What We Fix on Heat Pumps

Most heat-pump repairs in Brevard homes fall into a small set of patterns: bad capacitor, failed contactor, low refrigerant or a leak, defrost-board failure, blower motor or wheel failure, condenser fan motor failure, reversing valve issues. We carry common parts on the truck for the major brands so most service calls are one-visit fixes.

Heat pumps have one failure that pure ACs do not: the reversing valve. When that fails, the system gets stuck cooling in winter or heating in summer. We can replace the valve on most brands; for older systems the math often favors replacement.

Diagnostic visit comes with a flat fee disclosed before we book, and the fee credits to the repair if you proceed. Most common single-component repairs are done same-day. Larger jobs like compressor or coil replacement we'll walk you through with a written quote.

Common Heat Pump Repairs

Capacitor

Dual capacitor failure is the single most common no-cool call. Replaced in about 30 minutes.

Contactor

The relay that switches the compressor on and off wears out from cycling. Common warranty part.

Low refrigerant or leak

If the system is low, you have a leak. We find and repair it before we re-charge.

Defrost board

Heat pumps need to periodically defrost the outdoor coil. A failed defrost board breaks heating mode.

Blower motor

Indoor blower motor failure stops airflow. Warranty replacement is common on systems under 10 years old.

Reversing valve

Stuck cooling in winter or heating in summer? Reversing valve. Replaceable on most brands.
